How to send an invoice?

Most invoices are sent by email as it’s fast and easy, though some businesses still prefer to receive and send them by post. Large companies that have to deal with a high number of purchase invoices may use a dedicated portal that requires sellers to register an account and submit their invoices through it. Such an approach helps keep the incoming invoices organized, automatizes their handling, and reduces human errors.

Before preparing your invoice, ask the buyer about the preferable sending method, the correct billing address, and any additional information that should show up on the document. Remember that rejection of your invoice may cost you time and potentially result in a cash shortage.

The most commonly used format of commercial documents is pdf. However, if you use a pdf template with editable fields to create your invoices, make sure to remove those fields before sending the final document to the buyer.
